North East Disabled Veterans Association– Brian picked up on the under recognised work of this organisation which meets at Mastrick Community Centre and seeks to provide a warm welcome to disabled veteran service men and women who are often ‘dropped like a hot potato’ from their employment and friends. The Association provides not only camaraderie but a listening ear and are given confidence to walk forward in their lives.
The North East Veterans Association is funded entirely by public donations. They receive NO funding from Government, Council or funding organisations. Their plans are to provide a service 7 days a week from a dedicated building. It is at least something that the Trinity Centre has been very supportive.
Rob went to speak to Chairman Ron Robertson at their stand at the Trinity Centre.
