A North East couple – Carolyn and Callum Crews have raised more £450 for NHS Grampian through a unique woodcraft project.  The couple have produced wooden hug tokens as a way of connecting families throughout the lockdown. More than 270 tokens have been produced and have been sent as far away as Australia. The tokens were advertised on the Crews Wood Crafts Facebook Page.  Carolyn and Callum have had good feedback.

Paper and Petals, a florist based at Udney Green was forced to change its focus from stationary and flowers for weddings to providing fresh flowers in time for the weekend so that families could send floral hugs to those separated. Emma Reid who owns Paper and Petals has seen her business flourish.

Two employees from the National TRust for Scotland – Edouardo Bedin and Daria Phoenix will be setting off on a walk to raise money towards the upkeep of the Trust’s properties and raise awareness of the nation’s heritage. The walk takes in 23 National Trust Properties from Crathes Castle in a circular walk and includes Brodick Castle on Arran. To find out more  visit the just giving page
